Akikaran Fellowship is a leadership development journey where fellows will get multiple opportunities to grow and learn. The two years fellowship program will provide an opportunity for young graduates from different universities and workplaces, to serve as full-time School associates working in some of Assam’s most under-resourced schools. Through this experience of teaching in classrooms and working with key education stakeholders like students, principals, Government, and parents, the fellows will work on building the school ecosystem and get exposed to the grassroots realities of North East’s education system.
Under the guidance of the program Team, fellows will work closely with all stakeholders to transform the life of the children through Training Programs, Master learning circles, Parents champ Community meetings, and School Management Committee meetings. Fellows will be working on the ground to understand systemic and regional challenges.
In the process of transforming a school system, fellows will begin to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to attain positions of leadership in the education system and identify their larger role in nation-building.
NEAID started the Akikaran fellowship program with a vision to create leaders from the community with high social values who need guidance and on-ground experience to develop skills to take up multiple roles post-fellowship with the gained skill sets and competencies required in the development sector.
