Meraj Ahmed, a post-graduate in Mass Communication & Journalism, has a rich background in public health and education. Starting his career in print journalism, Meraj transitioned to the National Health Mission (NHM), where he specialized in social behavioral communication for change. His work spans government projects, international and national NGOs, CSRs, and consulting. He also has been part of a public health intervention with Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University for Mother & Child Survival Program with focus on Family Planning component in Assam. Notably, he contributed to the G20 by supporting the Ministry of Labour and Employment for the Employment Working Group (EWG) and L20 under India's G20 Presidency. His passion for social change is evident from his short-term assignments, including the Changeloom Northeast Fellowship by Pravah & RGNIYD and an educational project in Darjeeling under the William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service by the American India Foundation. Originating from Guwahati, Meraj is driven by his love for capturing stories of change, hiking, exploring, sketching short stories, and appreciating good cinema. His diverse experiences and dedication to social causes highlight his commitment to making a meaningful impact in the social sectors.
